Gary performs stunts with his bike, but winds up with his axel in his skull. His Mom somewhat rushes him to the ER, where a literal piece of his brain comes out. Kim helps him pee into a cup after he is left alone for hours. Gary goes into surgery, and struggles with confusion for days after. When he awakes, the doctor explains he has a slim chance of living, and will eventually need a plastic plate installed in his head where his skull used to be. He picks out an orange helmet to wear in the meantime.
